[scribus] Tables - can only place them, that's it

Hello,

I have been using Scribus for awhile now.  But I have never used tables.

I am starting to redesign our catalog, and there will be tables needed.

I can place a table with the correct number of rows and columns.

But, if I want to add text, or change the colors of the table, I have
not figured out how to do this.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Joseph

You do not say which version of Scribus you are using, but with the 1.5 version;

1. Create your table

2. Double click inside a cell and enter text

3. Select cell->Properties->Table->Colors

Hi Joan,

An option to at least consider is to not use tables at all. Instead, you
might import a CSV file into a text frame, and instead of having
individual cells, you use the tabulator to place the items from your
CSV. Spreadsheet programs have CSV export as an option.

Here is a wiki page about using a script to import csv data:

https://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/Import_CSV_Data

If there is a lot of trickiness to how you wish your table to look,
there is also the option of doing your spreadsheet work in a spreadsheet
program, then exporting the table as an image, then importing the image
to Scribus. You won't be able to edit the table once imported into
Scribus in this way.

Greg

Hello,

I happen to be using 1.4.6.  But, your idea worked fie.  I figured out
how to click on just 1 cell and enter data and change color.

Thanks!
