Well, I have a MacBook Pro and Adobe CS 5.5 and I export from InDesign as

[PDFX4 2008]

PDF/X-4:2010

Acrobat 7 (PDF 1.6)

now I need to change OS, because other apps don’t work with OS 10.9.5

Because Adobe CS 5.5 doesn’t work with OS 10.10.xx

the problem it’s with only one client of mine, but I wouldn’t pay Adobe 60 euros a month (I am only using InDesign) because now my job is more to web design

And why not upgrade to 10.10 or 10.11?

Hello,

I am running CS5.5 with OS 10.10.5 with no problems.

From checking on the Adobe website CS 5.5 is not supported by OS 10.11 and above.

Hi Fabio,

I really wonder why you need to export to 1.6. You also mentioned X-4 in another mail.

I suggest you download the latest 1.5.4svn snapshot for Mac OS X from Sourceforge. With this version you can export to X-4 (and it also includes many, many improvements over 1.5.3). X-4 is based on 1.6, so that shouldn't be a problem. Also note that Scribus's PDF 1.5 export already includes many 1.6 features, but only those that are relevant for Scribus.

one of my clients ask me for this pdf version, their pre-flight doesn’t accept older pdf

Hi Fabio,

If your client only accepts PDF 1.6, please try the following:

1) Export as PDF 1.5.

2) Open the PDF in a good text editor or a hex editor.

3) Change the version number in the first line from 1.5 to 1.6.

4) Save the file under a new name but with the file extension pdf.

That might do it.
